As a result, Tesla's share of the total market nearly halved to 0.7 percent from 1.3 percent a year ago, indicating a significant decline in its market presence.<br><br>In contrast, electrified vehicles (EVs) are gaining popularity across Europe. In April, they accounted for 59.2 percent of passenger car registrations in the EU, up from 47.7 percent in the previous year. This growth is driven by emission targets and cheaper models, which are making EVs more accessible to consumers.<br><br>Country-wise, total car sales in Spain and Italy increased by 7.1 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively, while in France and Germany, they dropped by 5.6 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively.
